Should we take out spammers... Literally? Wednesday, September 07, 2005 (00:00:00)

Just a few words about spam... Excuse me for off topic but I really tired
from spammers. I was always wondering how much it really cost for all of
us: to get, filter and clean spam from our mailboxes. As this site owner,
I am forced to use special software to avoid spam flooding in my mail boxes. I
hate spammers and would like to send all of them to the Moon or even another
galactic. If they just were sending mail from their servers. No! They are not
only stealing a bandwidth from clients (when they download emails to computer from
a post server) but also they hacking normal servers and abusing all the
services. Two weeks ago during my site transition from one server to another, I
had no enough time to secure my new server fast enough. And what do you think?
Just after 7 days I installed my new server and was working with site
transition, I found that one guy from Brazil already abused my mail server and
sending mail from my site, using my web site name! 3 Gb of mails in mail queue
to more than 20000 people!!!
I was enough fast to take him out..... I hate such people! If I could find
him in real life... Reading in July MosNews
"Russia’s
Biggest Spammer Brutally Murdered in Apartment" article I thought
that it is to much - to kill spammers...
But now..., I don't know.... It is not just unwanted mail in your email box,
with some advertisement, it is REAL CRIME when spammers breaking into my own
server, which I bought for my own money and use services, which I pay for. It is
my private server, like any other my property - bicycle, car or even icecream I
bought. Yes, even icecream. It feels like somebody was jumping with dirty shoes
in your bed, while you were out of house...
Today I found one online Spam
Cost calculator to get real price of Spam we get and bussines get. Actually
much money, that are taken from our pockets (because they were not spend to
salary, development, investment etc.)
Should We take out spammers... literally? Shall I?
